Effective Online Communications

In a very short period of time, the norm for business communication went from paper to digital, and online communication has become the new standard. In order to effectively use this medium, there are a whole set of new rules for communicating - which most people slowly learn by doing, and sometimes learn the hard way. Ironically, solo entrepreneurs rely a great deal on online communication but don't have the benefit of co-workers to inform or correct us - so, if we blunder, our clients are often the ones to see it first!

This presentation will put you on the fast track to effective online communication by covering the most important aspects in one quick and understandable lesson.

Topics include:

  • Common Internet acronyms and what they mean
  • Giving your online communication personality; "smilies" and how to make them
  • Spam - what it is, how to avoid it and making sure you don't do it!
  • Flaming - what is it, and offensive/defensive strategies
  • Rules of Netiquette - how to be a good online citizen
