Business Description

I am a career consultant and resume writer. I give employment talks on careers exploration, resumes, cover letters, and interviews. You are your greatest investment. I work with you to help you see the job search process in a new way. The practical step-by-step career exploration system I have developed will give you focus and direction. I will show you how to find your own job: a skill you will treasure for life. I challenge the assumptions clients have about the job search.

Why did you go into business for yourself?

I spent 20 years in jobs that didn't match my personality and skills. I want to prevent others from making the same mistake. I help clients find careers they love, not just a job to pay the bills.

What are some of the unique characteristics of your business?

I've developed a practical step-by-step career exploration system to show clients how to find a career they love.

How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?

I'm good at finding out what stage the client is in their job search, and what they need.

Who are your target customers/clients?

My clients range from entry level to Ph.D's. I have helped college students, office workers, administrative assistants, computer experts, sales executives, speech therapists, teachers, lawyers, and Ph.D. engineers.

What aspect of your business do you enjoy the most?

Helping clients achieve their greatest potential.

What excites you about your business?

Watching people at the moment they realize they can succeed.

What is your least favorite aspect of being a solo entrepreneur?

Bookkeeping!

What advice do you have for other solo entrepreneurs?

Set priorities by writing them down and numbering them 1 to 10, 1 being the most important. Get a strong support system through family, friends, peers, and SEC! Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. If you don't know how to do something, pay someone to do it for you.
